Our current work with educational therapists can be illustrated by our long-standing partnerships with Carolyn McWilliams and Molly Bogad, two preeminent LA-based educational support specialists. In fact, Carolyn has worked with Launch since its inception in 2007 and has 30+ years of experience as both a consultant and educational therapist.
Launch’s working relationship with Carolyn and Molly flows two ways. On the one hand, we refer students to Carolyn and Molly when we realize that certain students require remediation beyond the expertise of our tutors. Carolyn and Molly then meet with these students for therapy or provide recommendations to our tutors for more targeted instruction. On the other hand, Carolyn and Molly refer students to us when they need tutoring for higher level academic subjects beyond their expertise, like Honor’s Chemistry or Calculus.
Today, we strive to work with educational therapists in a manner that best suits their needs. Our tutors can provide reinforcement for what is taught in the context of therapy, or, they can provide tutoring for subjects that are outside of the therapist’s expertise. With access to our tutors’ lesson notes online, educational therapists can be sure that our tutors are meeting their students’ needs.
